About Me

I have always been fascinated by fish and particularly by their enormous diversity both in shape and colour as well as in  behaviour. I had studied mate choice behaviour in various cichlids of the East African Great Lakes investigating female mating preferences and multiple mating and sperm competition. I also studied the lekking behaviour of bower building cichlids of Lake Malawi together with my colleagues Martin Genner, Domino Joyce and Kyle Young.

Currently, I am a lab manager in Ole Seehausen's group in Bern, running the molecular lab and running the aquarium facilities. I am also responsible for animal experiments, the respective permits and animal protection issues in our group.
