About me

I am a PhD student in Genetics and Molecular Biology at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Brazil, and currently a visiting PhD student at the University of Bern. My research focuses on how historical and ecological processes shape genetic diversity and diversification in South American fishes. Using population genomics, phylogeography, and demographic modelling, I investigate how historical changes in river networks have influenced population connectivity, gene flow, and genetic divergence. At the University of Bern, I am studying the diversification of Odontesthes silversides, combining genomic and morphological approaches to investigate speciation and evolutionary radiations.
